Activities

ChildRight is an organization, actively supported by Nobelpricewinnars, who fights for the childrens rights worldwide.

ChildRight campains for the Childrenrights and against violence.

ChildRight fights against the exploitation of children: all forms of violence, exploitation and abuse of children. We focus on three key issues:

Freeing Children from Slavery and Prostitution

ChildRight – literally- liberates children from slavery, prostitution and out of violent circumstances. Together with our local partners we liberate children who are working under unacceptably inhumane conditions, reunite them with their families or we provide refuge and education, so eventually they are self-sufficient and can build  themselves a brighter and better future.

Prevention through Information and Education

ChildRight supports relief workers on site. By educating parents about parenting and protecting their children. By lobbying with governments for better legislation to protect children and prosecute child operators. And by offering  effective (education) projects for children.

ChildRight informs governments, businesses and consumers

About how they can contribute to curbing the abuse of children. Through appropriate legislation (for instance against child pornography on the Internet), clear productionmethods (with better working conditions for the child workers) and conscious consumerbehavior (only products for which children were given a proper salary, not products for which children were abused as slaves).

Increasing Public awareness

Since 1994 ChildRights conducts campaigns for children in emergency situations: from child soldiers, child prostitutes till child labourers. The results of this campaigns are encouraging and have led to adjustments in legislation, increased penalties, faster prosecuting and slower release of perpetrators.

The growing number of donors proves that, through the informationcampains ChildRights conducted in recent years at various locations in the Netherlands, public awareness has increased.

And that is important. Because every child involved is one too many. Therefore we must continue to take action on site and continue to inform the utch public, politicians and other individuals or groups who can exert influence.
