Schools in Cambodia
Two million Cambodian people have been killed by the Red Khmer in the course of time. Furthermore, the entire school system has been completely destroyed. Out of poverty, children are being sold. More specifically, thousand of girls are being traded as merchandise and end up in prostitution.
The best way to prevent this kind of practice is to offer the children the chance to go to school. Now, most of the children do not have the chance to learn how to read and write. If they do get the chance, they must study in open fields, often in the rain and under the hot sun.
In cooperation with initiator Bernard Krisher of American Assistance for Cambodia, ChildRight is building three schools in the province of Siem Reap. Meanwhile, the first school is completed.
In this way the children get the chance to learn how to read and write, protected by a roof.
Besides the realisation of the schools, compensation is being offered to families that lose help with household activities now that their children go to school. The families receive a small financial contribution.
For the children this means a chance to receive a full education.
