The Afghan Peace Volunteers, Afhanistan Kabul

To give Afghan children better opportunities to get an education without the pressure of working long hours in the streets. Each child and their families will get a sack of rice and a can of oil monthly. They will also get school stationary and material. We also plan to get winter clothes for each child.
We help them with books, pens and other stationary needed for school. Every fortnight, we hold classes in which volunteers teach basic literacy and math skills. Afghan "street" children : these children live in their own homes or in Internally Displaced Persons Camps with their families. They work in the streets to help with family needs and to earn some income, some collecting trash, collecting scrap paper and cartons for fuel, and selling various items.
